ADK- F2R Freqency to Radio

SkyDemon (SD) recently offers the option of sending frequencies to the radio via a Bluetooth interface. See also german Fliegermagazin 8/2024. 

The frequency you tap in SD is transmitted directly to the radio. Once again a highly innovative feature from SD which really increases comfort and safty, especially when cross traveling. 

The F2R module (Frequency to Radio) is connected to the radio via three lines (12V, ground, and Rx line).

Since it is a BLE module, no additional password is necessary. In SkyDemon it is found automatically, and you might give the interface your own name for better recognition.
The module can be placed behind the panel without any problems. Argument from a customer: „…definitely reduces head down time“

The module consists of:

• a BLE Bluetooth module compatible to SD and the Radios mentioned in next table.
• a small power supply (DC-DC converter)
• an RS232 interface 
• polarity protection
• Housing with three-core shielded cables, length  approx. 0.3m,  (other cable lengths available on request).

The following radio devices are currently supported: 

• ATR833
• TQ KRT2
• Garmin GTR225 / also works for TRIG
• Funke ACD57 ab SW45, Port konfig 9600Baud
• (Becker AR620X under investigation)

Security:

• Frequency locking errors can be ruled out.
• The station name provides further assurance that you have Frequency locked correctly.
• In case of emergency „goto nearest airfield“:  you will get the frequency online with just one tip. This hardly works manually within these stressful situation.
